I-4 AutoMall plans to work with Strata Solar on Solar plus Storage Project

I-4 AutoMall is bringing experts in design, construction, renewable energy, and auto mall sectors to work on one of the most innovative auto dealership experiences in the country. Companies involved with the project will be collaborating and plan to work together to build the state of the art I-4 AutoMall in Central Florida.

I-4 AutoMall project aims to set a “new standard” in commercial development that balances the built environment and nature. Environmental benefits such as onsite renewable energy and water conservation measures allow for a more sustainable dealership experience. In addition, the project will include solar plus energy storage system. 4.3 MW (DC) of solar will be installed on 11 parking canopy systems to help power the dealership. Over the course of the first year in operation, the system is projected to produce approximately 6,500 MWh of energy. Along with solar generation, a 2 MW (AC) / 4 MWh battery energy storage system will also be incorporated. Developing the solar and battery storage systems is Strata Solar, a North Carolina based, fully integrated, turnkey solar plus storage developer.

The environmental benefits of the photovoltaic system are projected to be equivalent to offsetting approximately 12 million pounds of CO2. That is the same as displacing over 1,000 cars or planting over 9,800 trees.
“The I-4 AutoMall development as envisioned by Mr. Brendan Hurley, the project’s developer, will become the new global standard for automobile dealerships both in the US and abroad,” says HHCP Design International’s Gregory Dungan, AIA the project’s Master Architect.

I-4 AutoMall is selecting Strata Solar to bring all of its experience and expertise to the table for this project, having worked with other commercial and industrial partners across the country and recently invested heavily in the creation of a dedicated storage team. With 840+ MW assets owned in-house, 150+ utility projects constructed, a rapidly expanding C&I business and the #1 operations and management provider in the Southeast I-4 AutoMall has brought in one of the leading EPC providers in the United States.
Together, I-4 AutoMall and Strata Solar will hopefully create a new, innovative, and more sustainable auto dealership experience.
